It is very exciting to see an organization develop for the sole purpose of helping families of newly diagnosed children battle autism head on. Talk About Curing Autism (TACA) does just that. It gives people timely information, offers resources, and supports families affected by autism.

TACA’s goal is to empower parents to effectively treat children newly diagnosed, speeding up the recovery of their children and strengthening the autism community by connecting families with other families and professionals who can assist them, allowing them to share their stories and successes. Algae: A Viable Alternative to Corn-based Ethanol

Check out this alternative to corn-produced ethanol. It is not as widely publicized in the news, but may be a more economical and productive way to reduce energy costs in the future!

Founded by MIT chemist Isaac Berzin in 2001, GreenFuel Technologies of Cambridge, Massachusetts, has developed a process that:

“uses a portfolio of technologies to profitably recycle CO2 from smokestack, fermentation, and geothermal gases via naturally occurring species of algae.”

Global warming is real. Along with the participating US cities (Atlanta, Chicago, Phoenix, San Francisco), the World Wildlife Fund and millions of people around the world, join Earth Hour on Saturday, March 29, 2008, from 8 to 9 p.m - to make a bold statement about climate change. For one hour, residents, businesses and organizations across the world are being asked to voluntarily turn off lights to reduce energy consumption. We want to raise awareness about climate change and demonstrate that the people of the world can make a difference in the fight against global warming.

Dr. Rodney Ford Explains how Gluten can Make You Sick

Dr. Rodney Ford, a pediatric gastroenterologist from Christ Church New Zealand, has launched two public service videos that explain very simply how Gluten can affect the brain and the gut. Dr. Ford is the author of several books about what he has termed, “the gluten syndrome”. Dr. Ford urges people who suffer from reoccurring bouts of illness yet test negative for celiac disease to go ahead and try the gluten free diet anyway. The first video is geared toward children and adults alike and makes a very understandable and simple explanation of how gut and brain symptoms are connected in the person who suffers from gluten intolerance, or the gluten syndrome. Harding Family Sends 11 year-old Homeschooler to College

In Montgomery Alabama:

Serennah Harding, age 16, a Huntingdon senior and biology major focusing on pre-med studies, and Heath Harding, age 11, a freshman at Huntingdon College interested in becoming a movie director someday, were both in College by the age of 12—as were their 2 older siblings.

The following video not only highlights the accomplishments of Heath Harding, but also sheds some light on the positive impact of homeschooling gifted children. His mother, Mona Lisa, has successfully prepared Heath and his three older sisters for college by age twelve. She continues to home school his four younger siblings.
