Medication

We are just recovering from a stomach bug in our house. This is the first time Tigger has been sick in nearly a year. He had a fever and I was afraid to give him anything for it due to possible increase in tics. What have you all given your kids that you notice is safe? (for a 5 yr old). Just about everything has colors in it.
BTW-- since he hasn't really eaten in the past two days, except broth, rice, I noticed that he has stopped some low-level "tics" I had been noticing over the holidays. Well, I'm not sure what to term them-- just some silly 'noises' he likes to make when he is doing things. Sort of like humming. I really think the dairy is a problem and because I was too liberal with it I think it started to affect him. There must be a threshold level of some kind.
