Gluten and corn free safe products listing: This page lists manufactured products that have been verified by the manufacturer as gluten and corn free. Items on this list were verified between 2008 and 2013. Please double check with the manufacturer to be certain the item listed on this page continues to be gluten and corn free. If you find an item that is no longer safe please contact Healthy Family with ‘An Update for the Gluten and Corn free Products List’ in the subject line. Thank you very much! This is an awesome list to maintain. Your help and participation is greatly appreciated!

[ATTENTION! We are actively updating the list for March 2014 so bookmark and check back soon!]

Healthy-Family’s list of safe foods & beauty products

Gluten and Corn freePlease use this special safe products list for gluten and corn free items with caution. In most cases I have called the manufacturer personally to verify that the item is in fact both a gluten and corn free product. I have noted if the product is also dairy free and/or safe for the Feingold diet too. I have marked items the same way they are marked on the recipe index page, [D] means dairy-free, [F1] means Feingold stage 1, [F2] means Feingold stage 2.

I have added information as needed for locating all the gluten and corn free products listed below, including both local places to buy as well as online stores.

NOTE: Manufacturers of gluten and corn free products are known to change ingredients. It is always safest to call the company and verify yourself, especially if you are highly allergic to both gluten and corn. Corn is a tough ingredient to verify as present or absent as it is not an official ‘allergen’ in the United States. Corn is often added to gluten-free foods as a binder, but it is also in over 80% of all processed foods in the United States. Please use this Gluten and Corn free Products List as a helpful guide and not the final word, especially concerning corn-free products.

I originally generated this list to help myself shop for my son. There is much debate among corn allergy sufferers about the safety of some products that are corn derived.  In the beginning of this process I was giving my son foods with citric acid, but as he further detoxified himself from the corn I realized that even this would cause a reaction in him. Xanthan gum, on the other hand, does not affect him. Even though many corn allergic people complain about xanthan gum it is considered okay by manufacturers. You will find many gluten and corn free products listing xanthan gum as an ingredient.

My son is not allergic to corn in the familiar sense of the term, he has a corn intolerance. (His symptoms do not cause a life-threatening situation; they cause neurological problems).

So please make careful considerations before you purchase anything on this gluten and corn free products list. Just because an item is labeled corn free does not mean that you won’t react to it.

Tip: Once you get into a routine and find your favorite gluten and corn free brands it is best to buy in bulk and save additional money whenever possible. This is especially true for flour mixes. I typically shop at four major stores each month and store excess goods in my pantry or deep freezer. Organic gluten and corn free foods can be found at Whole Foods Market, Trader Joes, our local grocer, healthfood stores, and through online suppliers like Amazon.com.

Note: If you are a supplier/manufacturer of a gluten and corn free product not listed here please email me: caryn at healthy-family.org.
