It grieves me to have to write this post. As an NIU grad who has spent 7 years in DeKalb, I was completely leveled by the Valentine’s Day Massacre as I watched it unfold live through my local television stations. Today the report has finally come out: the Prozac Nation can now add another school shooter to the list of SSRI patients turned psychotic. The news reports today say that in addition to Prozac, Stephen Kazmierczak had also been taking Ambien and Xanax. SSRI medications like Prozac have also been linked to several other school shooters.
In 2004 the FDA issued warnings saying that abruptly changing the dose of an anti-depressant (SSRI) drug, whether increasing or decreasing it, can produce hostility, psychosis, and/or suicide. There are over 10 million people on antidepressants in America. After all these years and all these shootings I continually ask myself when will the FDA step in and investigate the possible homicidal implications of improperly prescribing these dangerous drugs? We all know that celiac disease is a problem of the small intestine, but most of us are probably unaware that it could actually be the root cause of a whole host of neurological problems from brain fog, to tingling and numbness sensations in your extremities, to developmental delays and learning disorders, autoimmune disorders like multiple sclerosis and rheumatoid arthritis, movement disorders like ataxia, and even psychological issues from irritability or depression to schizophrenia. Dr. Jim Stevenson and his team of researchers from the University of Southampton, U.K., just published the results of their study in the September issue of the Lancet: “Food additives and hyperactive behavior in 3-year-old and 8/9-year-old children in the community.” Stevenson and his team tested 297 children in a double-blind-placebo-control study. Each child was given a drink and then their parents and teachers subsequently rated their behaviors. (more…)

The decades old firestorm debate over whether or not thimerosal in vaccines causes Autism got heated up last week when Jenny McCarthy made her accusation on the Oprah Winfrey Show. The U.S. Senate has just released a report after an 18-month long investigation of the FDA and CDC concerning thimerosal levels in pediatric vaccines and the rising rates of neurological disorders in U.S. children. Their verdict: the FDA is guilty of forcing parents to inoculate their children with hazardous amounts of poisonous mercury in the name of disease control. (more…)

Hold off on frying up those sausages and burgers you have in the bottom of your freezer before reading the following update: This week the European Union has officially banned the use of Red 2G, or E128 from being used as a food coloring because recent studies have proven that the “azo-dye” is a known cancer causing additive. It was originally permitted for use in low cereal-filled breakfast sausages and burger meats in Europe

Are you easily agitated and a chronic insomniac, often waking up in the morning after what seems like a very short, dreamless night? Perhaps you’re one of those people that never eats breakfast; instead you prefer to race off to work or school. Do you often forget where you just put something or what someone just told you?
