Dr. Jim Stevenson and his team of researchers from the University of Southampton, U.K., just published the results of their study in the September issue of the Lancet: “Food additives and hyperactive behavior in 3-year-old and 8/9-year-old children in the community.” Stevenson and his team tested 297 children in a double-blind-placebo-control study. Each child was given a drink and then their parents and teachers subsequently rated their behaviors. (more…)

Another Azo-Dye Is Banned (Red 2G), this Time in the EU

Hold off on frying up those sausages and burgers you have in the bottom of your freezer before reading the following update: This week the European Union has officially banned the use of Red 2G, or E128 from being used as a food coloring because recent studies have proven that the “azo-dye” is a known cancer causing additive. It was originally permitted for use in low cereal-filled breakfast sausages and burger meats in Europe

Attention and Behavioral Problems Can Be Alleviated with Good Food and Supplements

Prior to beginning any type of drug therapy program, the first thing a parent should do when their child begins to exhibit behavioral problems in school is take a serious look at their son or daughter’s diet. Recent studies have shown that food allergies or sensitivities can cause hyperactivity in children, and in many cases it can also be the cause of neurological dysfunction.

Children exhibiting attention difficulties, hyperactivity, irritability, and other behavioral problems can often times see a relief of symptoms by simply eliminating problem foods and beginning a proper diet and supplement program.
