There are no extra steps required, and all ingredients cook up soft and tender in one pot. This stove-top dish takes less than 20 minutes to prepare and cooks up in just about an hour without any additional fuss. For those with special food allergy concerns, it is also gluten, wheat, corn, soy, and dairy free. This recipe makes a simple substitution for the familiar recipes that call for popular canned tomato soups (which generally have both wheat and corn products on their labels). It is less creamy, but the added rice in the sauce add a nice texture and taste.
