Marcie at Lil’s Dietary shop in Chicago, IL recently gave me a crust from Pane Riso Foods to try out. Our neighboring Canadians will recognize this crust as the famous Kingsmill Foods crust sold online, in stores, and at select pizzerias across their country for years. The spokesperson I chatted with informed me that Kingsmill Foods was the pioneer supplier of gluten free foods in Canada. Two years ago Kingsmill Foods sold their gluten free line to Canbrands Specialty Foods and the brand name is now in the process of changing to Pane Riso Foods. Want to eat a slice of your favorite pizza with everything on it but don’t have time to make a homemade gluten-free corn-free crust? Here is a quick way to make a healthy meal in a cinch. We borrowed Amy’s frozen cheese pizza (made with a gluten and corn-free rice crust) and jazzed it up to make a more balanced meal. Dairy-free? Amy’s also carries a vegan version in a convenient individual frozen size. Now everyone can enjoy pizza again (unless you are avoiding soy!). (more…)
